Lyrics

THE CAUSE

Some people ask me, why I work so much.
No matter how much I earn it seems it's never enough.
So for whatever chance comes, I do what I can.
I need to see the big picture, the overall plan.

CHORUS

So I've got to be careful, when I'm taking advice.
Does it do anything for the rest of my life?
And if it doesn't, it should give me a pause.
Does it do anything, to help the Cause?

Once I fell far behind. I watched my world fall apart.
I didn't know where to turn; how to make a fresh start.
Now if I ever feel like I'm falling again,
I know to pull things together, and remember the plan.

REPEAT CHORUS

INSTRUMENTAL

I know what I want and I'm working towards that.
Some people think they know better, but I know where I'm at.
You'll always run into people, that think that they know,
Exactly what you should do and where you should go.
I think that my favorites, above everything else,
Are suggestions from people who can't take care of themselves.

So you've got to be careful, when you're taking advice.
Does it do anything for the rest of your life?
And if it doesn't, it should give you a pause.
Does it do anything, to help the Cause?
